Independent contractor praised for a random act of kindness
We recently received some positive feedback from a representative at Brandon Park Shopping Centre about a sales contractor who went above and beyond to help an elderly customer.
Independent Contractor Joshua Reed was representing a client of Appco Australia at a kiosk inside the shopping centre when he noticed an elderly man who was alone and appeared confused.
Joshua approached the man, who said he had lost his friends while on a day trip at the shopping centre and missed the bus back to his retirement village – he was unsure of how to return back home.
“I just wanted to make sure he was okay, and he returned home safely, so I walked with him to the taxi bay and waited until a car arrived, Joshua said.
“I don’t think I did anything special – helping someone who needs a hand is the right thing to do and I would hope that if one of my family members were in this situation, a stranger would assist them.”
Joshua has provided his services as an independent contractor since June 2018 and says his experience in the sales industry and the daily interactions with the general public have helped him to become a better member of the local community.
