From $0 to $100 million – Airtasker founder shares success story
We enjoy celebrating others’ successful business moments, so when we came across this article about entrepreneur Tim Fung, we had to share his story.
He’s the founder of Airtasker, an online marketplace for people and companies looking to outsource or do odd jobs – and it’s a highly profitable business. The whole idea was born from a lightbulb moment Fung had when asking a friend to help him move house in 2012.
And although his idea might be simple, his approach to business is what’s truly inspiring and brilliant. Working from his living room floor, he and his friend, Johnathan Lui, created this company from scratch. Five years on, the company boasts over 2 million users and over $100 million in transactions each year.
Fung’s story really reflects what being an entrepreneur is all about – working hard, and having the ambition, determination and passion to create a successful business.
Fung gives this advice to budding entrepreneurs: “Work on something you are deeply, deeply passionate about because if you don't you won't have the resilience to get out of bed every morning ... putting yourself through the wringer,” he said.
