Appco Australia discovers croissants are key to communication

At Appco Australia, we believe in the power of conversation. It’s our passion and at the heart of our marketing services to our clients. We also recognise that regular conversation is key to building relationships within our team – that’s why our senior managers hold regular breakfast sessions just for employees.
Every month, different staff members are invited to a breakfast get-together, hosted by a senior manager. It’s a chance for everyone to get to know each other better, discuss business, share ideas and ask questions over a croissant and a coffee.
Appco Australia employee, Rita attended this month’s session and says: “It’s nice to spend time with staff and get to know them on a personal level. I liked that I had the opportunity to ask open questions and give feedback to management, it really helped me gain a better understanding of our workplace.”
Ben also attended this month’s session and said: “Having these kinds of conversations between managers and staff is a great way to build stronger relationships and creates a more connected team environment. It also helps improve our business by opening communication channels between staff and management.”
The feedback from staff is helping to improve the way everyone at Appco Australia works together. Since introducing these sessions, we’ve found that getting to know colleagues outside of the usual work-focused activities not only builds better relationships, but also helps boost teamwork, increase productivity and improve general communication.
