Q&A: tried and tested techniques that improve productivity
Did you know that Elon Musk works in five-minute intervals? His strategy is simple, but it helps him to get more out of his day. This fact got us thinking about our team and the techniques they use to deliver our clients’ campaigns efficiently. Here’s what they said:
Michelle, General Manager:
“Technology can be a distraction and can often lead me away from what I need to do. I find that if I schedule times throughout the day to do things like check emails, phone messages and respond to calls, it allows me to get more done and it makes me feel like I have extra hours in the day!”
Danielle, Client Account Manager:
“It’s pretty simple but extremely effective: I like to listen to music at work and drink coffee – yes I need a lot of caffeine!”
Vaughan, Commercial General Manager:
“I like to alternate the types of tasks I do throughout my working day – it gives me variety and I’m more productive. So, if I’m on the computer for a few hours, I’ll pause and start a different job such as making a phone call or holding a meeting before returning to the screen.”
Pauline, Business Development Manager:
“Because I manage a few projects at once, I need to be organised. The good old to-do-list keeps me in check, but I need to make sure everything on the list is prioritised so my attention is given to the most critical tasks first.”
