BLOG: Appco Australia’s Head of Business Support on how his role helps deliver high-quality services
One of the most satisfying aspects of my role as Head of Business Support is helping small business owners reach their goals – it’s my passion. I’ve been working in this industry for over 25 years and I enjoy passing on my experience and knowledge to others. Together with my team, we provide support and advice to the companies we sub-contract.
Our team are experts in various fields, and we provide a professional advisory service for the suppliers we work with. Not only do their companies see the full benefits, our business and our clients do too.
Why we support small business
As a marketing consultant, Appco Australia is an expert in assessing and understanding each of our clients’ needs, developing direct marketing campaigns and delivering ongoing support and analysis. But, as with any business, there are some elements of the campaigns we create that require specialised services. That’s why we outsource the face-to-face marketing component to companies that provide contracted brand ambassadors who represent our clients' brands.
Like our clients, we have high expectations and we want to make sure that their brands are presented in the best possible way. The team and I work with these companies to ensure that together we deliver a responsible and valuable service.
It’s absolutely essential that the marketing campaigns we create and deliver are of a high-quality, are compliant and meet or exceed industry regulations. The businesses we work with, and the independent contractors they contract to represent our clients' brands to the public, are also required to deliver this same level of excellence.
Tools to make them thrive
Our company is all about encouraging entrepreneurial spirit and our advisory service definitely promotes this. The support sub-contracted marketing companies receive from us, helps them to develop their businesses, and it also benefits our company too.
The team and I ensure that the marketing companies we engage with are given the right tools they need to deliver high-quality face-to-face marketing.
It’s up to each company if they choose to receive advice and mentoring, subscribe to resources which boost their skills in professional development, leadership, administration, business, and finance, or attend networking events and development workshops. However, they are required take part in education about the clients, products or services they will be promoting, audits and essential compliance and sector training.
We’re committed to ensuring the marketing companies we work with are well supported and the campaigns we create are responsible, compliant and of a high quality. A lot of time and effort is spent building our professional relationships with the businesses we sub-contract – and the results are well worth it. When supported and equipped with the right tools, they continue to raise the level of service they provide for our business and our clients’ marketing campaigns.
You want to get the most from the marketing activities your business has invested in and, as the year comes to an end, now’s the perfect time to review how your plan has worked and adapt it for a fresh start in 2018.
Recently, Appco Australia launched a range of introductory workshops for its employees, each focusing on a topic that’s central to everyone’s role. The aim is to increase people’s knowledge of the business, enhance their skills, and support professional and personal development.
From quizzing Appco Australia staff about their coffee habits (yes, we really enjoy drinking coffee) to asking about the best parts of their jobs and why, we’ve collated some of our favourite Q&A blog responses from 2017.
