Appco Group tee off for good cause
December 8, 2011
Appco Group NZ has been applauded for its support of the 2011 KFC Grilled Anita Boon Pro-Am. Appco Group NZ donated $NZ1000 to sponsor a hole in the tournament.
Enthusiastic amateur golfers from around New Zealand joined Australia's and New Zealand's best professional female golfers for the Pro-Am on November 3-4, 2011.
The annual Pro-Am celebrates the life of Anita Boon, a vivacious 36-year-old professional golfer who passed away in September 2009 with ovarian cancer. This hugely popular event allows amateur golfers to play alongside New Zealand's professional women golfers - this year the event was extended to two days allowing a mixed field to test their skills against the professionals.
The Board of the New Zealand Professional Golfers Charitable Trust has thanked Appco Group NZ for its generosity.
"We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Appco for your support of this year's 2011 KFC Grilled Anita Boon Pro-Am," the trust said.
"We had a tremendous response from sponsors and supporters and are pleased to announce that together we raised $10,000 for Anita's chosen charity - The New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation."
Keeping up with Appco Australia is no small task, and Annette is the person making sure everyone can do just that. She’s the woman behind the news and blogs on the website and posts on Facebook and LinkedIn, and we decided to find out a bit more about her.
Recently, our Communications Manager, Annette saw her comic idol live in Sydney – yes, she’s a massive fan of Jerry Seinfeld. Since then, the Seinfeld one-liners have flowed inspiring her to write this blog.
Have you ever found yourself drinking coffee just to stay alert or re-doing your to-do list instead of actually doing the tasks on it? Like most businesses, Appco Australia is always looking for ways to become more productive, so we surveyed some of our very own multi-tasking gurus and compiled this list of tricks they use to super-charge their days.
No matter what industry you’re involved in, professional networking is a proven way to enhance your success and it’s something I’ve been helping business professionals develop for years, through my role as National Learning and Development Manager at Appco Australia.
In celebration of International Coffee Day, we did a quick poll at the Appco Australia office and asked some of the team: “How many coffees do you drink a day and what’s your poison?” Looking at these answers, we have some serious coffee lovers in the office.
