Appco Australia staff support Barnados Christmas appeal for kids

This week, employees at Appco Australia have donated to the Barnados Australia Gifts for Kids Christmas Appeal, which is collecting gifts for tens of thousands of children living in disadvantaged households.

“Christmas should be a wonderful time for all children; however for many struggling families in Australia, it can be a very difficult time of year”, says Mary Haiek, Barnardos Children’s Family Centre Manager.

“Barnardos Gifts for Kids Christmas Appeal aims to provide every child in our programs with a Christmas gift, to help ease the burden on disadvantaged families and to ensure every child experiences the joy of Christmas.”

Many of Appco Australia’s staff have made a financial-contribution, purchased a gift through the charity’s online store, or donated through the gift drive. Appco Australia employee, Annette Micallef says: “I have a young son, and I know how much Christmas means to him. I know that making a small donation will make a big difference to a child in need at Christmas.”

Employees at Appco Australia donate each month to many charities and causes through the company’s workplace giving program, The Appco Gives Back Foundation.

The Appco Gives Back Foundation is governed by Good2Give, which is a not-for-profit organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission that helps businesses and donors to give.
